Fall Volunteer Leadership Webinar: The RID Board and HQ will be hosting the fall Volunteer Leadership Webinar on Tuesday, November 22 from 7-8:30 PM EDT. The focus of this webinar will be on the RID LEAD Together Conference and the assignment of registration slots to volunteer leadership groups such as affiliate chapters, member sections, committees and councils. The number of slots to be awarded, how the volunteer leadership groups might assign these slots, and how the designated individuals are to register for the conference will be discussed, followed by a question and answer period. All presidents and chairs of the volunteer leadership groups within RID, and/or their designee, are encouraged to participate in the webinar. Member Services will be providing further details in the near future.

RID LEAD Together Conference Survey: A survey seeking member and stakeholder feedback on the priorities and topics to be addressed during the July 20-24 RID LEAD Together Conference in Salt Lake City will be open between November 4 – November 25, 2016. The survey will be in both ASL and English. Individuals interested in attending the conference and/or taking advantage of the streamed option, and/or who would like to contribute to defining the program, are encouraged to complete the survey. It is comprised of 16 questions and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The results will be published to the membership and will be used for program planning.

Mediator Training: HQ is in the process of developing an on-demand training for EPS mediators that should be ready for field-testing by early spring 2017. The training will be available in both ASL and English. This training will enable the Standards and Practices Department to increase the number of trained and qualified mediators to assist in the processing of EPS complaints, which have been on the rise over the past several years. More information about this training and a call for pilot participants will be forthcoming in the near future.
