RID’s Board of Directors is an elected body of RID certified, professional interpreters that make decisions and set the direction and vision of the organization. The board works closely with many stakeholders, both internally and externally, as well as with individual members as they move RID forward. 2011 Strategic Challenges Approved by the Board of Directors>> The RID Board of Directors consists of an executive board, which includes the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, member at large and deaf member at large, as well as region representatives, one for each of the five regions. All board members, who serve a two-year term of office, are nominated by RID members and elected at the biennial conference. The immediate past president can serve as an ex-officio member of the board. Board Values: During the September 2013 face-to-face board meeting, the board spent time developing relationships and most importantly, identifying the values that they will honor while working together as a board. Those values are Roots, Respect, Relevance and Results (“Four Rs”).

2013.31- Motion to commit the RID Board of Directors to the values of Roots, Respect, Relevance, and Results as guiding principles for the 2013-2015 term. Motion Maker: LaVona Andrew
