The RID Board of Directors would like to inform the membership of the final stages of the CEO Search process. First round interviews with the CEO Search Team have been completed and several finalists have been invited to interview with the Board during their Face-to-Face meeting Oct 16-20. In the past, RID has released introductory videos from the CEO final candidates. In this search, the RID Board has chosen a different approach which will enable deeper engagement of volunteer leaders in the CEO selection process and protect the reputations of the candidates.

Volunteer leaders, including Affiliate Chapter Presidents, Member Section Chairs, and Councils will receive a briefing on the CEO finalists, including their CV, cover letter, and video statement of interest. Volunteer leaders will be able to submit to the Board their opinions on strengths and weaknesses of each candidate and give an overall rating. They will also be able to submit questions for the Board to ask candidates during the face-to-face interview.

The Board is committed to involving the perspective of our diverse membership and will report back to Volunteer Leaders regarding their feedback and questions for the CEO candidates, letting them know how that feedback was incorporated in their final decision. We encourage all members to reach out to their AC Presidents with any thoughts or perspectives they would like the Board to consider during this process. We trust in our Volunteer Leadership to represent the views of the membership. Timeline:

  • Volunteer leaders will be sent information and a survey about CEO final candidates by Sept 27.

  • Volunteer leaders are expected to return their feedback by Oct 12.

  • The RID Board will interview CEO final candidates on Oct 17-18.

  • The RID Board will hold deliberations and make a final decision about CEO hire by Oct 31.

  • Volunteer leadership will be informed about the decision process and CEO appointment by Nov 8.

  • Announcement of the new CEO to the membership will be made by Nov 15.

The CEO finalists are all extremely qualified and savvy individuals, and we are confident that, working together with our Volunteer Leadership, we will choose the right individual to serve RID and help us accomplish our strategic goals.
