Giving Tuesday FAQs

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to give back, whether by donating money, volunteering, or supporting causes that matter to them. It happens every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The idea is simple: after all the focus on spending, take a moment to think about giving—whether it’s helping a local charity, supporting a global cause, or just doing something kind for others. RID participates in Giving Tuesday to remind us that the holiday season isn’t just about receiving, but also about giving.

We plan to allocate donations to RID’s Scholarships and Awards program that seeks to support and recognize our association’s members in meaningful ways while creating lasting connections for our community.

HEARD is an organization that has tremendous impact on the community, and to incarcerated deaf/disabled individuals in need of support. To show our appreciate for their mission, efforts, and all that they do, RID is honored to contribute a portion of funds collected to this organization.

RID will donate 20% of Giving Tuesday contributions to HEARD.

The donation window this year will be from December 3-10, 2024! That’s right, an entire week to allow everyone to participate in Giving Tuesday.
