Requirements

For Educational Licensure, you must hold a license through RID or

– Pass EIPA at least 3.5 and above,
– Years preceding the application and hold a bachelor’s degree, or higher in any field in accredited institutions, colleges, and universities
– If the application is for licensure with the EIPA but does not meet the degree requirement, the initial 5 years license will be issued and the degree requirement must be met for renewal

For Non-Renewable Licensure

– If the applicant does not meet the licensure requirements, excluding the degree requirement, a one (1) year of Non-renewal license in this field may be issued at the request of a local unit of administration for completion of this requirement and
– If the applicant does not meet renewal requirements, a one (1) year of Non-renewable license may be requested by the local unit of administration to allow time for completion of renewal requirements

Length

Every 5 years, and if the interpreter gets a 4.09 and above on the EIPA – they do not have to test again.
