Primary Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and efficient ASL interpreting with the Superintendent/CEO and other school directors.
- Provide accurate and efficient ASL interpreting for special assignments, such as school presentations or educational field trips.
- Travel, when necessary, with the Superintendent/CEO to out-of-town meetings and conferences.
- Act as interpreter coordinator and scheduler for other school staff and students.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all interpreted communications.
- Provide voice-over, captioning text, or translation for special projects.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR an Associate’s Degree with applicable experience.
- An excellent mastery of both American Sign Language and English.
- RID or BEI Certification is required.
- A strong understanding of the Deaf community and RSD’s mission, vision, and values.
- Able to handle confidential information appropriately.
Salary Range
- $50,000 – $70,000 depending on experience
- Exempt, full-time 12-month position with some flexible hours
