Confidentiality(Required) I acknowledge that in connection with my service as a volunteer with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) on the national, regional, state, and/or local level, I will have access to and may become aware of confidential information, including, without limitation, information regarding procedures, methods, and data used by RID in the evaluation, education, monitoring, and guidance of interpreters throughout the country. I further acknowledge that any information that is shared with me or accessed by me during my service with RID that is identified as “confidential” or that has not been made publicly available by RID is deemed to be of a confidential nature and is owned as a proprietary right by RID.(Required)
Possession of confidential information(Required) I agree that I will not allow any third party to have access to any materials containing such confidential information provided to me by or on behalf RID; that, upon RID’s request or upon the completion of my volunteer service with RID, I will delete, destroy, or return to RID any such materials in my possession; and that I will not reproduce any such materials by any means, including memorization or recall.(Required)
Agreement for Legal Action(Required) I acknowledge that RID may pursue legal action for any violation of this Agreement or other improper use of such confidential information by me or by others through me, and that RID, in connection with such action, may use this Agreement, and may seek all available remedies, including without limitation, injunctive relief, damages, and attorney’s fees and costs.(Required)
Federal Anti-trust laws(Required) I understand that RID, as a non-profit, is restrained by Federal anti-trust laws and regulations. Among other things, this means that those who have roles within RID need to avoid any and all appearance of price-fixing or pricing collusion. As a result, agents of RID cannot participate in group discussions related to interpreter rates or compensations. I understand that if I am in the room and the topic comes up, I need to leave the room until the discussion is over. I also understand that topics related to interpreter rates and compensations cannot occur on "RID properties" - including but not limited to actual physical properties owned or rented by RID (including conferences and events) and virtual spaces such as online discussion groups.(Required)
